Is nuclear energy a clean energy option and the way of the future. Many experts believe this is possible even though nuclear has many critics as well. Over 40 years ago Three Mile Island Nuclear Generating Station in Pennsylvania was the site of the most serious nuclear accident in U.S. history. That coupled with other nuclear incidents over the years including the shutdown of San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station in Southern California this past decade due to safety issues is cause for concern. And yet many argue nuclear is a safe and viable energy source. Reporter David Nazar
