Are Democrats and Unions Running or Ruining California
Are you curious what goes on behind closed doors at the California State Capitol in Sacramento. Where your tax dollars go without a say from the voter. Who is really making the decisions. Many of you, per your emails, have asked me to keep reporting about California State politics. To keep the politicians honest and accountable, both Democrat and Republican. To keep asking the tough questions with no favoritism for either party. Questions about everything from crime and homelessness to out of control spending and insane state business rules and regulations. And there are more questions to be asked.
So I contacted retired Republican California State Senator John Moorlach to find out if state leaders are running California or ruining California. And for the record, I chose to interview a recently retired state official in the hopes of getting more honest answers. Especially since someone who is now out of office is not going to be worried about getting reelected again and can be more uncensored.
Retired California Senator John Moorlach from Orange County California spent two terms in the State Senate. Prior to that, he was an Orange County Supervisor and before that, the Orange County treasurer. His early claim to fame as a young certified public accountant, a claim that basically helped launch his political career, was his much scoffed at scaremonger gadfly warning that Orange County was going to go bankrupt in the Nineties with then Treasurer Bob Citron. Many observers said Moorlach was an alarmist and crazy for making such claims and all this was nonsense. However, his prognostication became a reality within six months. OC went bankrupt and was in temporary disrepair with 1.7 billion dollar investment losses. As Orange County filed for Chapter 9 bankruptcy, the largest Chapter 9 bankruptcy filing in the U.S. back then, Moorlach was appointed to replace Bob Citron. And two years later voters hailed Moorlach a hero as he was elected new OC Treasurer where he helped get Orange County back on track. And thus began nearly 30 years of public service to the State of California. This is reporter David Nazar and here is my interview with retired Republican California State Senator John Moorlach uncensored.
